  1. Do go to a Professional

Government agencies, like the local health department, require different licenses for the shop, the artist, or both. If you don’t see any licensees displayed , ask the owner of artist to see them before get started.

  1. Do your own research about the tattoo

First of all before going to shop lets decide what type of image /picture you want to draw on, if you want a unique one ask the artist, if he is ready to customize a unique design for you. May it take some time but your design is unique. Don’t go for routine ones.

  1. Do  Know it will hurt

Getting a tattoo is always painful, on areas with a lot of nerves, like torso and lower back. The bigger and more complicated is the design, the longer time it takes (may be multiple settings), small ones takes an hour or two.

  1.  Do be original

If you must get a tattoo dedicated to your guy/girl, be elusive. If the first gift is a heart pillow he/she got for you, then get a heart tattoo. Like this. If you do breakup you won’t have josh on your arm forever. (Keep this in mind)

  1. Do be strategic

When choosing a location for a tattoo, think twice about how you might not always want to show it off, you can rock a small back tattoo in your bikini at the beach, but you easily cover it uo too or a small tattoo on shoulder showing in jim and easily cover it up in your office.

  1. Do  take care of your tattoo

To avoid infections, wash your tattoo with warm water and antibacterial soap, and cover it with a healing cream, like A+d ointment.  After the first week, it’ll peel like sunburn.
Don’t swim or expose it to the sun for at least two weeks.

Tattoo  (What not to do)

  1. Don’t forget to ask following questions.

Tattoo shops can be intimidating, but you can’t e scared to speak up. Its your body! Make sure you see them take the needles form a fresh package (Dirty needles could expose you to hepatitis, HIV, and other infections).

Alert your artist if you know you are allergic to red ink, or any other, since you could get a painful, itchy, and potentially permanent rash form the pigments.

  1. Don’t get one illegally

If someone is taking the risk to tattoo you if you are underage, chances are they are putting you at risk too. It is worth the wait to get a tattoo done properly by a professional.

Otherwise, you could end up with complications, like raised scar tissue of and infection
